Gamers love getting hyped about upcoming games. The only problem is that not all games can live up to gamers’ expectations. Here are some overhyped games that flopped.

Duke Nukem Forever – A game over a decade in the making, Duke Nukem’s style had gone out of fashion long before it finally released.

The Last Guardian – How do you follow up a masterpiece like Shadow of the Colossus? With a letdown.

Resident Evil 6 – If this was your introduction to the series, you’d hardly know Resident Evil was supposed to be survival horror. Thankfully, Hollywood-style action took a backseat in the sequel.

Destiny – It became great after a couple of expansions, but Destiny 1.0 left many hopeful fans disappointed.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4 – This game was billed as a return to form for the Sega mascot. Too bad it wasn’t any better than other recent Sonic games.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 – This game doesn’t come close to living up to the “Pro Skater” title.

Dragon Age 2 – The original Dragon Age game was enormous and epic. Dragon Age 2 felt claustrophobic by comparison.

Evolve – An online shooter like this lives and dies by the size and passion of its player base. Evolve never built up one of sufficient size.

Watch Dogs – With Watch Dogs, we were promised a next-gen game of open-world wonders. So why was the finished product so boring?

No Man’s Sky – The hype for this open-universe game was astronomical. The finished game didn’t come close to meeting expectations.
