The Adam Project Plot Holes (And Other Time Travel Movie Mistakes)

Ah time travel. It’s that thing we both are pretty sure can’t happen but also, theoretically, it totally can. Except that it can’t. One argument is that if time travel existed, we’d already know. There was even a group of MIT students that hosted a party for time travelers to give them a fixed point to converge, but as far as we know the party was a bust. Regardless, we can’t resist the allure to rewrite the past or fast forward to the future. The problem always arises is what happens when something in the past is changed. Can you kill your own grandfather and then cease to exist, or is there some sort of multiverse where that one change creates an entirely new timeline. Except the scientific multiverse is about a specific particle zigging when perhaps it should have zagged creating new reality, but number of instances where that change wouldn’t effect anything means there would be an almost infinite amount of identical universes with no perceptible change. Unless ‘time travel’ is actually just you running around all those parallel realities. Now the actor from Deadpool has to team up with the actor for Gamora to slip back in time to tell the actor who plays Bruce Banner to not invent time travel after all, bringing with it the same old Causality Loops. Are you one to fix the logic of time travel or do you subscribe to the philosophy from Rubber and you shouldn’t worry about it?
