You’ve got a lot of options if you’re in the market for a book-style foldable, with seven manufacturers offering phones that turn into tablets. But that rich tapestry diversity hasn’t trickled down to flip-type foldables. With only minor competition from the likes of the Motorola RAZR and Huawei P50 Pocket, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip family has come to dominate the clamshell flip phone category.

So when Oppo invited media to London to witness the launch of a product that stands a good chance of changing all that, well … I was on a plane faster than you can say “flip the script.” I’m Michael Fisher and I’ve spent a week with the Oppo Find N2 Flip: a vertical-folding clamshell with a nearly-invisible crease on the inside; a very visible screen on the outside … and some confusing software choices that  make you wonder if its competitive price is indeed competitive enough.

MrMobile’s Oppo Find N2 Flip Review was produced following one week with an Oppo Find N2 Flip review sample provided by Oppo. Pre-production sample running pre-release software. The device received one software update during the review process, to ColorOS 13 build CPH2437_11_A.19.

Oppo provided travel, lodging and entertainment (in the form of receptions/dinners) for some media to attend the Oppo Find N2 Flip launch event in London – MrMobile included. However, MrMobile does not accept compensation from the manufacturers of the products he reviews in exchange for producing content. No payment was provided and no manufacturer or carrier was afforded a preview, editorial input or copy approval rights concerning this review. The lone sponsor of this video is Displace.
