The Mandalorian Takes Star Wars Back To Its Roots

The Mandalorian Is Just Making Us More Hyped For Rise Of Skywalker

At its core, Star Wars is a Spaghetti Western. Or, I should say, Star Wars WAS a Spaghetti Western. The first three films were greatly influenced by this genre, and are classic examples of that type of film, only set in a technologically advanced future rather than the days of the Wild West. Their skeletons are exactly the same, though. Then things sort of got off track and now we’re at a point where Star Wars is just another popular sci-fi action movie franchise.

In this video, we’ll examine how Disney+’s new series The Mandalorian actually takes the whole Star Wars brand back to its roots. It’s a classic Western if there ever was one, much like how the series was originally intended. We’ll dive into the origins of Star Wars and what influences George Lucas took from. We’ll also closely examine The Mandalorian and explain how it’s the truest instalment of Star Wars in decades.

Rick And Morty Season 4 Episode 5 Recap

Rick And Morty Season 4 Episodes Just Keep Getting Better
Subscribe to our channel: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Screenrant

Today at Screen Rant we will be performing our sacred, sombre duty: saying goodbye to Rick and Morty, for now. After taking a break for years, then giving us five more episodes, Rick and Morty has aired its last episode until…sometime in 2020. Although it’s nice to know that Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland signed on with Adult Swim for dozens of new episodes in the future, they’re certainly taking their sweet time putting them out. So, as the indefinite wait begins, we’re comforting ourselves (and hopefully you too) with an in-depth recap of Rick and Morty season 4, episode 5: Rattlestar Ricklactica.

It’s technically a Christmas special and it begins that way, with Jerry trying to put up lights. But, as you can imagine, it doesn’t really last. Jerry ends up floating away while Rick and Morty cause a Terminator-style time travel fiasco on a planet of snakes. This is the first official time-travel story in the history of Rick and Morty and, based on its tone, it’ll probably be the last. The whole episode plays out as a parody of Terminator, yes, but time travel narratives in general and how they’re a slippery slope or, an ouroboros. Plus, if you watch all the way to the end and wait past the credits, you’ll get a nice Christmas surprise from everyone’s favourite grandpa/grandson duo.
