For years, video game developers have done their best to always put out the most interesting, game-changing (no pun intended) products that people will talk about for years to come. Unfortunately sometimes even the best ideas need to be cut to ensure the game can come out on time.
Banjo-Kazooie, the beloved 3D platformer for the N64, used to have a way to exchange items between different game cartridges!
Bioshock Infinite shared gameplay many times in it’s 5 year development cycle, but it seemed like every time we saw the game it looked different and some ideas never made it to the final game.
The original Pokemon game at one time allowed you to fight Professor Oak, but at the last minute the battle was cut.
With the success of Super Mario Bros, Nintendo decided to make two different sequels, one for Japan and one for the rest of the world.
Microsoft’s massive franchise, Halo, was almost a real time strategy game and was only being looked at as a game being releasing on PC and MAC.
The Super Smash Brothers series has had a wide variety of fighters from across the gaming world, but not every character gets to make a return in the sequels.
The new Star Wars Battlefront was forced to cut it’s single-player story in an effort to release the game in time for film, The Force Awakens.
The writers of Destiny were shut down after the bosses at Bungie disliked their story, but only had a year left to write a new one.
The first 3D Mario game was going to have multiplayer where the second player could be Luigi.
Overwatch was the result of developer Blizzard’s failure to create a new MMO they had been working on for seven years.

Streaming games online can help you capture and share a lot of epic moments, but it can also cause a lot of failures. When these streams go live, you know that someone else will be capturing it in some form. From there, these embarrassing moments can go viral and we’ve captured some of the most embarrassing ones here. From physical falls to getting caught by parents, try not to laugh at some of these crazy moments.

Cats are pretty much the star of the internet and things only get crazier when they become a part of video game live streams. In multiple instances, cats have caused destruction while playing a variety of games. Games can get exciting, so that’s why it’s important to always have a good grip on your chair. Watch as a player falls flat on his face when a chair flips out from underneath him. PopularMMOs are often recording funny videos and they put together a compilation of some of the funniest times where they’ve fumbled words around and created funny moments. Getting pranked can be common on Twitch and one poor kid didn’t realize how bad things were getting when he kept inadvertently destroying things that he thought he was fixing. Getting swatted is a scary and humiliating experience for many online players. When streaming live, these moments can get broadcast all over the world. Parents aren’t too savvy when it comes to computers and one child deals with an embarrassing situation when his mom walks in while he is playing. Other moments include Minecon live streams, losing thousands of dollars, birthday celebrations, and dealing with PC issues.

Speedruns are incredible to watch online. Players get the chance to showcase their amazing gaming skills by defeating levels, using hidden secrets, and cutting down on their best times. A lot of video games have moments of luck, random events, or even glitches that can impact how a speedrun works. For many players, this can result in unlucky moments that really delay times and the ability to set records.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas feels like a living and breathing world. This also includes the random occurrence of plane crashes featured in the game. One player saw how bad these crashes could be when a plane came flying out of the sky. In The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, one part of the game includes winning a dog race to unlock special prizes and extras within the game. One player finds it nearly impossible to do this task and pick the lucky dog. Some elements of a game are out of a player’s control and that’s exactly what happened to someone waiting for the Hammer Bros. to find their proper position in a Super Mario Bros. 3 map. The original Mario Party game features a Bom-Omb challenge and one player cannot seem to defeat his opponents to move on from the level. While setting an impressive speedrun score, one player has to listen to a voice chat from a viewer that donated to the channel. The repetitive voice becomes distracting enough to dramatically change the course of the speedrun. A lot of random events occur in the Pokemon Red and Blue games. One speed runner finds himself dealing with random encounters with Weedles. Other unlucky moments include games like Resident Evil 2, Minecraft, and Super Mario Bros. the lost levels.
