The Mandalorian is almost here, and fans everywhere couldn’t be more excited to see what this new series has in store! With an all star cast that features a ton of incredible actors like Pedro Pascal, Nick Nolte, Carl Weathers, Taika Waititi, and Werner Herzog bringing a whole new slew of characters to life, it’s sure to be one of the most exciting shows debuting on the new Disney+ streaming service. But some are wondering just how much The Mandalorian is going to tie into the rest of the Star Wars franchise. Well, while the show is committed to exploring new characters and untold stories, it does take place in the same galaxy, so they can’t get too far away! We know that it takes place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi and with the fallout of the Battle of Endor still fresh in everyone’s mind. One particular ship can be spotted in the newest trailer for the show that is a direct link back to the animated series The Clone Wars. Aside from events from the films, the whole thought process behind the creation of the show is inspired by the prequel trilogy, and how George Lucas created a landscape for modern CGI. But don’t worry, Jon Favreau has promised that the computer animation will be a lot more… sophisticated than its original inspiration.
