It’s the movie where director Wes Anderson really came out with his now instantly-recognizable style, Rushmore is on its surface the story of a prep-school overachiever, but underneath the surface of the 60s-esque color palette, it’s a poignant story, and a true example of film as art.
And not only should you watch “Rushmore” before you die, you should watch it before the Oscars this year. Along with Grand Budapest Hotel, for which Wes Anderson earned a Best Director and Best Picture Nomination.
Also, Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray are awesome in this movie.
