Back to School: Best Laptops, eReaders and Tablets

Today Quinn from ThatSnazzyiPhoneGuy and I take a look at the best tech gadgets for back to school including laptops, eReaders and tablets.

For the best laptops for school our choices are the Apple MacBook Air and the Sony VAIO SB Series laptop. The MacBook Air is a stellar ultraportable machine with Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, a standard SSD and the option of a 11″ or 13″ display. The Sony VAIO SB Series features Windows 7, Intel Core i3 and i5 CPUs, a standard DVD drive along with a 13″ display.

Our choices for the best eReaders for school are the Barnes and Noble Nook Simple Touch and the Amazon Kindle 3. The latest eReader from B&N is an outstanding update to the Nook line with a new, smaller design, touchscreen E-Ink display and access to the Barnes and Noble eBook store. The Amazon Kindle features a full QWERTY keyboard, a 6 inch E-Ink display and support for the huge Amazon Kindle library of eBooks and textbooks.

On the tablet front we chose the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and the Apple iPad 2. The Asus Transformer is among the best Android tablets you can buy with a dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, excellent IPS display, optional keyboard and a very reasonable price. The iPad 2 is tremendous successful and it’s not hard to guess why. With it you will find an extremely thin design, a 1GHz Apple A5 dual core CPU, front and rear facing cameras and access to the enormous library of apps in the App Store.
