أظهرت أحدث الدراسات البريطانية، تراجع معدلات إرسال وتبادل الخطابات الورقية بنسبة 30% في السنوات القليلة المقبلة، وذلك بعد نجاح رسائل البريد الالكتروني والرسائل النصية الهاتفية في هز عرش الخطابات الورقية وماتحمله من رومانسية.

وأوضحت الدراسة التي أجريت لتقييم وسائل تواصل البريطانيين، أن مايقرب من 17% ممن شملتهم الدراسة اعترفوا بتفضيلهم الاستعانة برسائل البريد الالكترونى والرسائل النصية في التواصل مع الآخرين، وهو مايشكل زيادة عما تم تسجيله فى عام 2010، فى الوقت الذى أعترف فيه نحو 30% منهم عن تراجعهم عن كتابة وإرسال الخطابات الورقية والتقليدية كوسيلة للتواصل فيما بينهم.

وتشير البيانات إلى حدوث تراجع بنسبة 38% فى أعداد الأشخاص الذين يميلون لكتابة الخطابات الورقية.
