يهدف السجن أولاً وأخيراً لتحسين سلوك السجناء، وإعادة تأهيلهم للإندماج مع المجتمع بشكل سليم ، لكن ما يحدث في الواقع عكس ذلك تماماً !
لن أتطرق هنا للحديث عن إنتهاك حقوق السجناء، والمعاملة الغير آدمية لهم، وما إلى ذلك من حقائق مؤسفة للغاية، ولكن سنستعرض هنا جانب آخر وهو؛ الأفكار التي تطبقها بعض الدول لتخفيض فترة العقوبة للسجناء ..
