It seems like every movie these days has more Easter Eggs than anything else, and Pixar’s latest, ‘Turning Red’, is no different. The new hilarious, emotional, awkward and endearing animated movie is packed full of Easter Eggs, hidden jokes and references, as well as nods and homages to director Domee Shi’s hometown of Toronto – most of which are very, very, very Canadian.

In this video we will take a look at all of the things you (might have) missed and some of the blink and you miss it moments that you probably didn’t catch on the first time around. This will include a reference to Pixar’s upcoming movie Lightyear, Easter Eggs for Toy Story, Coco, Luca, Finding Nemo, Up, Bao and Monsters, Inc. references to a number of Pixar shorts (such as The Blue Umbrella and some SparkShorts), the classic Pixar Easter Eggs that you will see in basically every one of their movies (such as the Pizza Planet Truck, A113 and the Luxo Ball), references to the Anime movies that influenced it, the significance of the character names and the date May 25th, secret nods to Toronto’s major sports teams (such as the Blue Jays, Maple Leafs and Raptors), homages to Canada with a plethora of Canadiana, the roots for 4-Town’s name, a joke at Twilight’s expense and a bunch of other interesting content! So get ready to return to the streets of the 6, as we go through 25 things you missed in Turning Red.
