Yoshi is Mario’s great sidekick and has been on a ton of adventures with him along with some adventures of his own. The little green dinosaur may seem nice and appealing on the surface, but there have been some pretty strange facts to come out about him through the years. Learn about these facts to get a little more insight on the classic character.

Yoshi’s development went through a lot of different processes, but the true origins can be traced back to a game entitled “Devil World”. The game features a character with similar actions and attributes to Yoshi, but was never released in the United States. Many people assume Yoshi is a boy, but that is not necessarily the case. Yoshi has no defined gender and both male and female Yoshis can actually produce eggs at any time. This may also make it a little confusing when the character is dating Birdo. Yoshi is pretty nice most of the time and always there, but he once had a great feud with Donkey Kong and multiple games subtly showcased this feud. Yoshi loves to use his long tongue to eat anything in sight, but there’s a pretty disturbing moment in Super Mario World where he eats an animal we typically don’t view as food. Everyone just calls Yoshi by that name, but a detailed character guide released in the early 1990s reveals his true name. Watch to see all five weird facts about Yoshi and learn things you never knew before!

The Nintendo Switch has been a hit since it was released earlier in 2017. Fans of Nintendo were treated to some new titles in some Nintendo’s iconic game library such as Super Mario Odyssey. Nintendo is pretty well known for creating family friendly titles and having well established franchises that fans can expect new titles from. Fans can also expect a decent amount of other games as well. Due to the family friendly nature of Nintendo, most players can count on a wide selection of casual gaming content along with the other available titles.

As with any new console release, gamers eagerly await which titles will be released on the new system. Not only do fans want to see new titles in their favorite franchises, but they also want to play through entirely new games. Thankfully, with a new console release, gaming companies usually have more than a few new titles ready for their newest console; it’s just a matter of waiting for them to be released. 2018 might seem like it’s far off, but it’s only a month away which means that these game titles could be released at the beginning of the year.

While there are a lot of titles being released on the new Nintendo Switch, there are sure to be some game that are more popular than others. Some of the games being released may get swept under the rug and others may rise to the top. In fact, some games might not even live up to the hype.
