Extra info:

I’m always interested in ways to give back where I can, and for over a year I’ve wanted to have some fun giving away random prizes. Finally I’m in a position where I think we can make this happen!

My goal is to be able to do this once a week, so let me know if you like the idea.

These videos are made to be supplemental, and shouldn’t take away from regular project videos or quick clips.

Instead, they are bonus videos simply made to recognize and give back to you, my loyal supporters.

I ordered a bunch of toys from Vat19, so for the first bunch of MindBender episodes, you’ll probably notice the prizes are all from the same place.

Thanks much for being a random citizen. And whether or not you win anything, please know I appreciate having you on board, and am excited to see what crazy cool things we can do together in the future.

Based on the impressive new Silverado/Sierra platform, these new trucks offer a presence that simply cannot be matched by smaller crossovers.

Project History & More Info:

I’ve had a chemical experiment I’ve wanted to demonstrate for awhile that could be used for hiking, biking or survival situations. The container I made, originally, was made of glass. I thought it was a neat idea, but when I told my dad about it, he suggested hikers would probably prefer something more lightweight. I think he was right.

When I saw the idea for joining two bottle caps together, I knew it was the perfect solution.

I modified the idea slightly by using a hotel key as a divider to create 2 separate compartments, and sealed everything together with a 2 part epoxy. Now two items can be stored inside without much risk of them mixing, or leaking.

The container weighs a mere 0.5 oz, unscrews from both ends, and is completely waterproof. I’ve been really happy with this quick and easy project, and already made 5 of them to store items in my emergency kit. You’ll see what I put inside mine in an upcoming project video 🙂

After seven years on the market, Hyundai proves it can build a value oriented luxury sedan that has the potential to run with the best from Germany, America, and Japan. For generation two, the 2015 Genesis now features more distinctive styling, nearly autonomous driving technology, and updated refinement bringing it closer to its direct rivals. Those of you who wants a luxury sedan that doesn’t follow the norm should stop by your local Hyundai dealership, but those looking for more sportier dynamics may find some competing vehicles more to your liking.

WARNING:

Cutting aluminum cans will give the metal very sharp edges. Sharp edges can cut skin. You may want to use gloves to mitigate any risk. Hot coals also pose a number of risks. Be aware of risk posed by open fires. This project should only be attempted with adult supervision and adequate training. Use of this video content is at your own risk.

Project History & More Info:

This was probably one of my kids favorite projects, because they got to eat the results. Even my wife was impressed with my mad cooking skills 🙂 And I can’t tell you how hard it was not to eat the s’mores right away while filming them. So tempting!

When roasting marshmallows for s’mores, I had taken note of how difficult it was to get them nice and gooey without catching them on fire. Most times, the marshmallows spontaneously light off, and burn a black skin of carbon all around the outside. Although this is fun, but doesn’t taste that great.

In this project I attempted to take a common campfire item, like a drink can, and modify it into a roaster, that would soften chocolate and marshmallows to s’more perfection.

I was really happy with the results, as well as how versatile the roaster turned out to be. It can be used in a lot of different ways, and definitely helps mitigate the risk of marshmallows catching on fire, and chocolate that falling off when trying to balance it over a fire.
