Mini Paceman JCW vs BMW M135i – autocar.co.uk

The Mini Paceman JCW packs a 215bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged engine and four-wheel drive. But it is priced identically to the brilliant BMW M135i. Can the Mini’s go-kart handling justify its price tag?

The 215bhp MINI Paceman JCW is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine and gets four-wheel drive, for just under £30,000. That’s an almost identical price to the BMW M135i, the rear-wheel drive hot hatch with a creamy turbocharged 3-litre straight-six pushing out 315bhp. Steve Sutcliffe drove them back to back to find out if the go-kart handling of the Paceman can compete with the hot 1-Series.
