Disney’s original Lion King movie from 1994 is one of the most beloved animated kids movies of all time. It made so much money that Disney is making it again! This time in “live action” which essentially means very good CGI. Although the original is a classic and characters like Simba, Nala, Mufasa, Zazu, Scar and more are iconic now — the movie isn’t without its questionable moments. Like what’s up with Scar controlling the weather? Why is the brother-sister romance so… romanticized? Why are lions even kings? With the recent release of the smash hit Wreck It Ralph sequel, Ralph Breaks The Internet, the fans have been so excited to make it back in theatres to see what Ralph and Vanellope get up to this time. It also means that new fan theories about the world of Wreck It Ralph are back in action, some of them even wilder than you can imagine! While some of these theories fit like a glove, some might just make you question everything you thought you knew about Ralph and his gang of video game character buddies. Theories like: is King Candy actually Vanellope’s father, but was killed and taken over by Turbo when he infiltrated Sugar Rush? Or how about the nature of Calhoun’s real tragedy, which is even worse than we know. Speaking of which, why does Calhoun seem so much more attached to her backstory than every other character? Could it be possible that Vanellope never actually lost her memory when Turbo cut her code loose from the Sugar Rush game? Even crazier, could it be at all imaginable that Ralph is actually our favourite Nintendo character Mario?! It could be that Vanellope’s glitch isn’t actually a glitch at all, but a power that she had simply forgotten she had. It might also be that unplugging doesn’t actually have the dire consequences that the characters believe! Some think Mr Litwack knows that the characters are sentient, that Wreck It Ralph is all in the world of Big Hero 6, and even that every Disney movie is actually a game, connected by Game Central Station.

I love microbrands! Don’t get me wrong, I love the big brands as well, but there is something about owning a watch from a smaller company that I get a kick out of. Perhaps it is the rarity, perhaps the fact that some smaller companies take bigger risks with their designs, perhaps it is the value they offer. And there are just so many of them to choose from, literally hundreds! I don’t claim to have tried them all, but I have certainly reviewed a few. So here are 5 of my current favourites.

As you will see, if you want one of these, you are going to have to display a degree of patience! Not all are available for purchase right now. Small companies tend to do smaller production runs. So pick a company you like, sign up for a newsletter if available, and wait for the next run.
