Welcome back to the Gamer! Today we are discussing the features unique to the Switch. We all know Nintendo has huge reputation for their extraordinary attention to detail and that’s what we are going to talk about today.
First Minecraft Story Mode is coming! This will be a great breath of fresh air for all of those who have been patiently waiting. The game will be out later in August 2017. Next, we discuss the frame rate lagging issue that occurs when Nintendo switches are not put in airplane or manual mode. This trick is a must!
From there we talk about the impressive catalog of games. If that wasn’t enough, don’t fret, users can play any Eshop game from around the world, regardless of their physical location. With that, another hidden feature that you may not know is that online multiplayer is free! Not for long, though, ends Fall 2017. Whenever that is. Next we talk about the Switch’s processor. Notably it’s an ARM and how this impacts some of the Switch’s best features.
Have you purchased the Pro Controller? We love it- there’s a hidden feature as well. We’re we the first to tell you? How about the hidden facebook hack? Yep, that one exists, and frankly, is to be expected. We’re not sure why, but the Switch is also keyboard compatible. Must be docked, though, as that’s where you’ll find the USB’s. This one’s for the more experienced gamer, but we talk about controller calibration. Not just for nerds, the calibration tool is great for certain people.
Lastly, we talk about a pair of hacked Joy-Con’s. We wonder what role they play in Nintendo’s future.

Since it was released in 2011, gamers across the world have been enthralled with Minecraft. The vast open world leaves gamers plenty of options when it comes to the type of experience they want to have and players are always looking for new ways to play the game. Some players opt for a creative experience where they can mold the Minecraft world to their specifications. Players in creative mode can differ from simple structures to pretty impressive, lifelike reproductions of real world famous icons like the Taj Mahal or the Golden Gate Bridge.

Other players opt for survival mode where their incarnation of Steve must try to survive in a terrifying landscape filled with MOBs trying to take a player out. Mining for the resources to gain better equipment while not being killed outright by creepers and silverfish is the challenge here in order to build a netherportal to complete the game. Survival mode, while challenging, is extremely fun and getting to the end stages of the game can take a substantial amount of time.

Then there are players that enjoy a combination of both. Not only do they want to survive and create, they want to find the best possible way to cause the most death and destruction that they possibly can. From well guarded houses with lava moats to T.N.T. cannons, these players are pushing the boundaries of Minecraft to make the most dangerous things possible and they’re certainly having fun while doing it which, after all, is the point of any good video game.

Dungeons, levels and missions have become a staple of the video game industry. There is no point in playing a game if there is no end goal or direction for the story to go in. Even open-world games, where you can do whatever you want, have a main storyline. We all play video games for their story and gameplay with the end goal of seeing those credits roll. Some levels can be so easy while others can be incredibly difficult. Some video games are at a set difficulty so the only way to defeat these difficult levels is through practice and repetition. At one point or another, we’ve all gotten stuck in a video game level. Sometimes we’re stuck for only a few minutes, but other times it can last years and maybe even a lifetime. This could be due to incredible level design full of thrilling puzzles and twists or it could be due to terrible level design that makes the level absolutely infuriating. Whatever the case may be, we’ve all been there.
When we think of confusing video game levels, the iconic Water Temple from the Legend of Zelda is usually the first thing that pops into people’s heads. While many Zelda players don’t think the level was that convoluted, a lot of other players cringe when you simply say the words Water Temple. Interestingly enough, there have been much more complex levels in video game history that put the Water Temple to shame. Without further ado, here are 10 video game levels we all got lost in. Enjoy!

Nintendo is known, worldwide, for being an innovative company that always raises the bar when it comes to family friendly entertainment. Since the first Nintendo gaming console was released in 1983, the Japanese company has not only become a household name, but the proprietary characters have become pop culture icons. With such an ambition for creating entertaining gameplay, Nintendo has sought out new ways to entertain their all ages audiences with much success over the past few decades.

From the Nintendo 64 to the Nintendo Switch, the developers at Nintendo always go above and beyond to bring out the best products possible to their fans. Unfortunately, that also leaves Nintendo open to some misses in spite of their wild success. Even the best developers fall victim to their ambitious ways and put products on the market that aren’t well received. Perhaps it’s their previous success that goes to their heads and clouds their otherwise sound judgement or maybe players are just not ready for what gaming companies are offering them. It could easily be that Nintendo was simply ahead of the times and that made gamers uncomfortable with something out of the ordinary.

In any case, all companies fall victim to releasing products that fail no matter how big they are. Nintendo is no stranger to failure, but it appears as though they’ve had more successes than failures over the years. Nevertheless, there are some products that Nintendo probably wishes the world would simply forget about so they can carry on with more successful titles and consoles.
