Pokemon has been a worldwide phenomenon since the nineties and the success of Pokemon Go in 2016 shot it back into the mainstream once more. It’s only natural then that a Pokemon movie soon went into development, cashing in on the Pokemon-mania. Detective Pikachu stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular Pokemon, and certainly raises some questions. Like why is the first part of the movie so depressing? What was the bad guy even trying to accomplish by putting everyone in their Pokemon? How did Tim get down that skyscraper so dang fast?

To answer all these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to Detective Pikachu! It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience!

The night is dark and full of terrors and that rings true for the person who first said that line on the show Game of Thrones. Spoilers ahead of everything up to season eight, episode three! Melisandre, the Red Woman, met her demise at the conclusion of the Battle of Winterfell but her impact on the conflict and the world at large and still be felt. Going back to season three, Melisandre gave Arya a prophecy, one that she began working on without even really knowing it. Arya would shut brown eyes, blue eyes and green eyes forever. Arya recently took out blue eyes with the death of the Night King. Not only is this fulfilling the prophecy of the eye colour, but it would also confirm that Arya is the Prince that was Promised, Azor Ahai, a title many thought would turn out to be Jon Snow. Despite getting many prophecies wrong before, Melisandre and Arya are seemingly two for three on the eye’s being shut forever, if we can assume that “brown eyes” was Walder Frey. That leaves, quite possibly, only one person left on the list and there’s a good chance that person was Arya’s original number two target from all those years ago. Does that mean Melisandre has been manipulating events ever since crossing paths with Arya? Or is Melisandre more of a parlour trick sorcerer who can sometimes be of use but quite often doesn’t see the whole picture. The answer to these questions lies (hopefully) in the final episodes to come!

Detective Pikachu is one of the most out-and-out entertaining film experiences of the last few years. Between the absolutely adorably rendered Pokemon and the surprisingly deep mystery storyline, there is a lot to dig into with this movie.

But what a lot of people are wondering, is if this film connects to the story of the Pokemon anime?

Well, it does. And I am here to tell ya about it.

Be warned though, I am gonna spoil this film, as the connection mainly lies in the end of the movie. So you’ve been warned.

Spider-man came back! Professor Hulk is here! Thor has a gut now? With so much focus on our heroes and the huge epic scenes during Avengers: Endgame, it was very easy to miss some of the smaller moments. In this case, we’re referring to a collection of film cameos that may have slipped by. Whether you were digging into your popcorn bucket — or wiping away some tears, these cameos often flashed by or featured people you never knew who they were. And then of course there’s a famous Marvel duck who couldn’t help but make his presence known. So let’s break down the who’s who of Marvel cameos from Endgame you may have missed!

Not only did director Joe Russo have his hands full filming two epic superhero movies pretty much back-to-back but our own MCU hero actually took the time to brush up on his acting skills and appear in the movie. The Russos really went out of their way to include a lot of cameos and small moments no one expected. Case in point: the storage unit scene where Scott Lang is released from the Quantum Realm. The scene features a great cameo no one expected. Casting rumors spread for months before Avengers: Endgame premiered and one of the names people talked about was Katherine Langford. The actress known for the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why and the movie Love, Simon drew a lot of headlines when she was cast. Watch to see all of these surprising cameos and several others including a famous duck and a possible Skrull!

Being a Marvel superhero is no easy job. Neither is being a bad guy, apparently. While getting to be in the biggest movies in the entire world surrounded by a cast of the hottest celebrities might sound like a cushy job, these actors work themselves to the bone in order to get into the best possible shape for their roles. They train like it’s their full time job, eat like they will never eat again, and push their bodies to the max to get to the shape you see on screen. Working out like these guys do is no easy feat, though with the help of their trainers and nutritionists, they make it look effortless. Like 49 year old Josh Brolin, who totally transformed his body for Thanos and Cable! Or Karen Gillan, the young actress who went deep into stunt and fight training for her role as Nebula! It might surprise you that Paul Rudd got totally ripped for Ant-Man, but the proof is right there on screen! Michael B Jordan got absolutely huge to play Killmonger, but Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira all hold their own right there with him. Chris Hemsworth’s Thor arms have officially gone down in history, while actors like Elizabeth Olsen focus more on building leaner muscle through ballet. Chris Pratt went from Andy Dwyer to Star Lord and blew all of our minds, and don’t forget that Hugh Jackman got jacked… man… for The Wolverine! And that isn’t even scratching the surface!
