On this episode of Roadkill, we hack the entire body off a C4 Corvette, cage it, and call it a race car! Freiburger and Finnegan fulfill a dream that began four-plus years ago when they first wrote the “Vette Hack” article for HOT ROD magazine, slicing 900 pounds of ugly fiberglass off of a 1985 Corvette to prove that it would handle better in the autocross. Less weight means more acceleration, better cornering, and better stopping. The idea is proven once again here as the guys add a 350-horsepower rat-rod engine, rebuild the trans, remove more weight, and make it rigid, safe, and stylish with a full rollcage. Next, they head into a shootout with a 2014 Corvette upgraded by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering with an Edelbrock blower, Kooks headers, and Corsa exhaust for a wicked-sounding 640 horsepower. And then, of course, there’s the off-road mayhem. The Vette Kart rocks!

On this episode of Hot Rod Garage, Presented by Lincoln Tech, we’ve got a brand-new Dickies Roadkill Project Car Update on the Crusher Camaro. Freiburger installs a single stage nitrous oxide system from NOS onto the Mast Motorsports LS7 to break the car into 9-second territory at the dragstrip. He also re-geared the 9-inch rear end, changed the transmission from a 4L65E to a 4L80E, and swapped converters. Off the bottle, the car slowed down from its previous best pass of 10.03 seconds, but with the go-button in play the car ran a respectable 9.94 ET. Finnegan also dropped by the garage for a new Q –and-A session and we’ve got a brand new quick tip from the staff of Lincoln Tech.

Reworked from the ground up, the 2015 Z06 ditches the screaming naturally aspirated V8 of the last generation for a supercharged unit producing 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. For the last day of Ultimate Adventure 2014 General Rick Péwé had something special in store for the group to play at Flat Nasty Off-Road Park. Finally back on dry land after days of mud and muck the group encounters plenty of trails to test both the mild and the extreme. The first trek of the day took them to the bottom of a dry, rocky riverbed. The rocks and traction proved to be a welcome novelty before the day ended with a run up some particularly nasty obstacles named Momma Bear, Papa Bear, and Baby Bear.
