Blasphemi, Burnouts, and FAST XFI 2.0 EFI Tuning! – Hot Rod Garage Ep. 9

After a last-minute thrash to assemble Mike Finnegan’s ’55 Chevy Bel Air, it famously cruised from Los Angeles to Charlotte, North Carolina, to attend the start of Hot Rod Power Tour 2014. The summertime road trip revealed the good and bad traits of the street-legal gasser and now it’s time to exorcize some of its demons. On this episode of Hot Rod Garage Presented by Lincoln Tech, the crew tunes the FAST XFI 2.0 electronic fuel injection system for wide-open throttle performance, lowers the front suspension, adds a pair of Viking adjustable dampers, and installs a Hurst Roll Control line lock for better burnouts. Then Finnegan takes to the drag strip to find out how well the car performs on the same wore-out pair of Firestone Cheater Slicks that he drove cross-country on. In the Q & A session, Freiburger and Finnegan discuss vintage Mustang Sportroofs, old Roadkill project cars, the F-Bomb Camaro, and of course, the staff of Motor Trend.

You Could Be the New Co-Host of HOT ROD Garage on the Motor Trend Channel!

HOT ROD Garage is our technical how-to show that appears on the YouTube Motor Trend Channel, and we’re doing more episodes than ever in 2015! That means we need more gearheads on and off screen to help current hosts Mike Finnegan and David Freiburger. Could you be the new guy? Or girl?

What we’re looking for is a person with in-depth tech knowledge about mostly domestic muscle-car-era cars and trucks and some late-models. The best candidate will know hardcore theory and will have worked with a variety of aftermarket parts on a broad spectrum of cars. The greater your driving skills the better, as we track test many of the parts seen on the show.

To apply, create your video, host it on your You Tube Channel, and comment on this video with the link to your video. We’ll sort through all the entries and get in touch with a handful of potential hosts. Finally, we’ll have the audience whittle it down to one or two finalists, and ultimately pick our winner.
