“Free Guy” is the newest entry into a world of popularized video-game film adaptations, including “Wreck-It Ralph”, ”Ready Player One”, and “Pixels”. But unlike other video-game movies, the star of “Free Guy” isn’t even a main character, but he must become one to save his world from the destruction of online-gamers everywhere.
While “Free Guy” takes a new concept and runs with it, we can’t help but feel like it’s an obvious continuation of other nostalgic video-game films, but with more mature subject matter. Check out our video to see why we think it’s the next “Wreck-it Ralph” for adults, and what we think we can expect when the movie hits theatres on July 1st, 2020!

“Wonder Woman 1984” has been getting a lot of positive buzz with the release of the new trailer, while some other DC Universe films haven’t been so lucky. The DC Extended Universe found one of its biggest successes with “Wonder Woman” and proved to audiences and studios that a female lead superhero movie could definitely gain audience and critical approval.
With “Wonder Woman 1984”, the DCEU has its first major sequel on its hands. While “Man of Steel” was followed up with “Batman v Superman”, it was just as much a Batman film as a Superman film, and then the release of “Justice League” added even more characters into the universe. But with Wonder Woman, the sequel will focus on our favorite Amazonian superhero and a group of new villains, cutting out the excess DC characters and making it very much a Wonder Woman movie, not just a DC movie.
“Wonder Woman” remains the DCEU’s highest grossing and critically rated movie to date, so making a true sequel to the blockbuster success seems like a no brainer. “Wonder Woman” and “Wonder Woman 1984” are also the first two movies in the DCU chronologically. While new entries into the DCEU seem like an effort to reinvent and rejuvenate the earlier movies, Wonder Woman is a bona fide hit and the sequel will be reuniting director Patty Jenkins with leading lady Gal Gadot. This means that we have some pretty high expectations, but with a recipe for success and a stacked cast, the first official DCEU sequel is bound to become a major hit.

So the last time the Ghostbusters franchise was seen by movie goers, was back in 2016 with the Paul Feig-helmed reboot starring Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy. After that film wasn’t actually received well, most of us just kinda accepted that the series was done. Out of three films, we got one really good, iconic entry. A fairly decent follow up…and the other one. So on the whole, not a bad run.
So when we heard that Jason Reitman, the son of Ivan Reitman, the director and producer of the first two films, was taking a swing at the series with a direct sequel to Ghostbusters II, seemingly ignoring Ghostbusters 2016, a lot of us fans were hesitantly optimistic.
And now, we have finally got the first official trailer for the film, entitled Ghostbusters: Afterlife. And it looks pretty flippin’ interesting.
So let’s go ahead and break the trailer down, seeing what kind of stuff we can expect from the long awaited third entry in the series. Or fourth…you know what, let’s just get to it.
