Thanks to Andrew at Watch Direct for giving me this review unit. It makes a fairly strong case for itself if you are looking for a Japanese big brand daily, but the dial is not on par with Seiko. In fact, it might take some time for Citizen to catch up, but I am going to enjoy watching them try. Cheers, Jody

Well, the cheapest ‘decent’ automatic GMT at least. If you have found a cheaper NH34 powered watch, leave me a link. A Top 10 seems inevitable. This one is by no means perfect, but most of its foibles are forgiveable considering the modest price tag. Now to find a 21mm perlon….. Cheers, Jody

There are many great all rouders that can be worn as a daily wear watch. For well under $200 on sale, this San Martin makes a decent case for itself. Good size, comfortable, well made ane well finished, great lume and a known quantity for a movement. Maybe some brighter colours next time, a bigger clasp, and put some effort into the caseback! Definitely busier than the Type A I bought last year, but just as good in its own way. Such a capable all rounder thanks to the combination of proper water resistance, date, lume, and Seiko VK power. I am keeping both, but it’ll probably cost me money in more silicone! Cheers, Jody

My first Baltic in aaaaaaages, and very nice it is too. Definitely not a spec monster. It pretty much recreates the look and the feel of a vintage piece. If that does not appeal then look elsewhere, but if you love vintage then chances are you’ll love this. Cheers, Jody
