Getting it right first time is very hard. And Nordic Marine Instruments had one aborted attempt. This watch is a cracker though. For $399USD early bird, it is so nicely done, it just comes down to branding and colour choice. Cheers, Jody

May as well make this an annual award eh? I know it is only August, but this one takes the gong for 2023. Just gorgeous, and not a lot of money. You can say what you like about Seiko, and I frequently do, but their dials are off the charts. Hardlex, not so much. Cheers, Jody

Well, I’ve seen a few brands make a few big claims over the years, but none have been stupid/cynical enough to claim to offer a 100 year warranty on any of thier products. Remember they have been in business since 2017! Ha! Ridiculous. Sure we need to be more conscious of the environmental impact of the products that we buy (and sell) but this is just bullsh!t designed to impress a few Gen Z instagrammers. Cheers, Jody

Watches like this just don’t exist for under $500, so I can understand why this one has been so popular. Not perfect, there are a few niggles, but I’m sure that it will continue to find fans and customers for future drops. Cheers, Jody

I paid for it, waited for it, waited AGAIN for it, but really like it. Not perfect, I think the clasp could lose some weight, and they need to be careful not to jack up the price, but a fun watch with or without the connection to one of the finest moustaches of the 1980s. Cheers, Jody

For the price they are charging, this thing is really good and there is not much reason to spend more. Just don’t look at it through about $8000 of camera equipment and you’ll be fine. Cheers, Jody
