When the crew from Petersen’s 4-Wheel & Off-Road buy low buck 4×4’s and pit them against each other in the Arizona desert, it can only be one thing… Cheap Truck Challenge! On this episode of Dirt Every Day, watch as Rick Pewe and his 1989 Jeep Cherokee, Harry Wagner and his 1978 Ford F-150, and host Fred Williams and his 1993 Toyota Landcruiser battle the budget ($4000 total bought and built) and each other to see who’s beater 4-wheeler can survive rock crawling, hill climbing and the mud bog obstacle course. Will their low dollar dream machines make it home, or are they a few cents short? Will their freakishly wild hair-do’s help them get down the trail, or just make them look like some ridiculous ’80’s garage band? Will you tune in again, or have these knuckleheads pushed their luck for viewer delight?

The crew also compare the fuel efficiency of Ford’s popular EcoBoost V-6 to the updated V-8 offered in the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra and the new Ram1500 diesel. Scott also addresses Ford’s take on the small truck segment, and their response to Toyota’s complaints regarding the SAE Towing standard.

Which is faster? An Ariel Atom V8 track day toy, BMW HP4 superbike or a rallycross Citroen DS3 with 600bhp?
Here we have three completely different ways of going extremely quickly in a straight line. Time for a drag race then. So what are the contenders? There’s the one-wheel drive BMW HP4 superbike, which arguably requires the most skill to extract speed from but has a ludicrous 757bhp/tonne power-to-weight ratio. Then there’s the two-wheel drive Ariel Atom V8 with 748bhp/tonne and the Citroen DS3 Rallycross car with only 577bhp/tonne but all-important four-wheel drive. Oh, and did we mention it’s wet?
What would you like to see go head-to-head in our next drag race? Let us know in the comments below
