The Renault Clio Renaultsport hot hatch is hardly slow, but it’s no match for the Clio Cup racing car. Its 220bhp might not be a big hike in power, but it weighs around 100kg less thanks to a stripped out interior and light weight exhaust. Not only that, but it has a straight-cut sequential gearbox with lightning fast shifts and short ratios, as well as slicks and, of course, race-tuned suspension. Matt Prior goes head-to-head in the Clios at Silverstone’s Stowe circuit.
