10 Xbox Fails Microsoft Wants You To Forget

Not only can do you all sorts of things in the world of Minecraft, but you can set records while doing it. Some records are fast and easy to break while others require a lot of time and skill. Many times, these insane records are never really worth your time.

Hooking up a lever to a door is one of the first basic things you learn when creating a Minecraft building, but one player decided to create the most doors that open using just a single lever. Riding pigs is fun, but one player took it to great lengths by riding a pig for a record distance. If you want to spend hours in the darkness and seeing the same surroundings, then you can attempt to beat the record for the longest Minecraft tunnel. Why build the longest staircase when you can easily hover up to any point you want in the game?! Surviving a fall requires a lot of skill and one player took falling to new heights by surviving. Building a Minecraft house takes a lot of work, especially if you take the time to build the LARGEST one ever seen in the game. Minecraft is an essentially endless world and one player took a journey that lasted for miles and miles. Another long journey can be made on the longest railroad ever build in Minecraft. If you’re interested in railroads, then hop in one of the Minecraft boats and go for a ride. Getting hurt in Minecraft is nothing to brag about, but one player did set the record for the most lifetime damage. Here are 10 dumb Minecraft world records nobody should try to break.

Getting game over is never fun when playing your favorite game. You have to restart the mission, go through parts of levels again, and try to find a new way to avoid death. Through the years, video game creators have found plenty of unique ways to amp up the dreaded game over scenes. This includes false game overs, surprise endings, and parts of the game where players should have never roamed.

Everyone knows when Sonic isn’t moving he impatiently taps his toes, but developers took it to a whole other level for Sonic CD by killing him off. It’s hard enough taking on all the zombies in Resident Evil 4, but things get a lot worse when you simply want to do some shooting practice at the lake. The Metal Gear Solid series travels across all different times, creating a paradox game over if you accidentally kill a character who appears in future games. James Bond has had a ton of different games, but one of the earliest actually features some of the craziest game over screens. A death can happen just seconds into the game if you don’t play it right. In Mass Effect 2, one of the craziest game over scenes can occur when you chose to make a connection with one of the female characters. The Elite Beat Agents is a really fun game until you reach the heartbreaking Christmas level. In Far Cry 4, a little patience can lead you to a quick game over and end credits scene. Tomb Raider covers the story of King Midas and his golden touch can lead to one of the craziest deaths in the franchise. Dishonored tries to keep players truly honest with their game over scene involving a bathtub. While playing The Catwoman DLC of Arkham City, you can chose to let Batman die and see the fun ending that follows. Watch and see all of these awesome game over screens!

Today, we take a look at the Xbox and all of its iterations, but we’re not looking for what you may expect. Nope, instead of looking at their accomplishments, we’re going to take a look at their biggest fails.

Starting off, have you noticed a trend in the video game world to push games which require online subscriptions? It’s almost as if each game is designed to be a subscription and a game second. However, one iconic game we believe made it all worthwhile was the original Halo and we remember one huge fail.

Next we look at some of the problems and errors affecting the Xbox. You thought these things were fool proof? Think again. From improperly designed components to features no one would ever use, we often wonder how these Xbox honchos got their jobs. Let’s be honest, how many games require a cell phone, tablet and console? Not many.

Lastly, we look at fails in the business model. We know these video games are lucrative business for the studios, but does it have to be so obvious? Whether it’s features which were once free, or features that are free on other consoles but costly on the Xbox; a quick look at the competition and we see Microsoft as one of the industry’s greediest. However, we don’t think consumers are powerless and Xbox users have fought back in some impressive ways. Without further ado, here are 10 Xbox fails Microsoft would prefer you forgot about.
