The Mario franchise has given us some wonderful and memorable characters over the years. Aside from our boys in blue, red and green, they have given us one of the most recognizable villains in video game history, Bowser. We grew up with the Mario Bros. and their incredible adventures saving the princess, but…it has basically been only Princess Peach. For the longest time, the western audience has only known the blonde and pink Princess Toadstool and questioned how she manages to get kidnapped every game.

Well, in recent years, there has been a push for more princesses that are not as easy to kidnap. While people may fawn over Rosalina, today we are talking about Princess Daisy. Move over Peach, your days are numbered as the best princess in the Mario franchise. Who exactly is Princess Daisy though? Where did she come from? When did she first appear? These questions and more will be answered in this video. In fact, we here at The Gamer will focus on some of the little known facts about the red haired tomboy princess. Making videos games seems to be a challenge and, most of the time, we have no idea how the developers manage to make such marvelous experiences. In the long arduous process, many developers seem to sneak in little funny secrets, most of the time never expecting them to ever be discovered, but of course, gamers always find a way.

Bethesda has been known to create rooms in the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series where they have one of every type of item for testing, and, for whatever reason, they always leave them in the game. After the massive success of Batman Arkham Asylum, gamers were hungry for more. Luckily, Rocksteady has been already planning a sequel and teased it in a secret room that went undiscovered by most. Dragon Age Inquisition was the game fans had been waiting for after being disappointed with Dragon Age II. While it was rated highly by critics, it still had some glitches, but the clever artists at Bioware left something to be discovered. The father of multiplayer console shooters is Rare’s Goldeneye 007 which was released on the Nintendo 64, but some really interesting features were cut out of the game. One of the first game developers to add Easter eggs to their game was Howard Scott Warshaw who is best known for creating the worst game ever made: ET for the Atari 2600. Metal Gear Solid is well known for having a lot of secrets, but, during a fight in the game, you can actually have a boss die of old age. We all thought the Pokemon Missingno was actually a secret in the Red and Blue versions, but it turned out to just be a very complicated glitch. Imagine you get the chance to be added to a classic game like the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, but your name was hidden where almost no one could find it. Some of the fights in the original Punch Out seem impossible, but a surprise Easter eggs makes one of the fights almost too easy. In Tiger Woods’ first golf game, you could access an episode of South Park, and, because of the mature themes, the game was pulled from store shelves.

If you don’t own a Switch by now then you probably won’t get to enjoy Super Mario Odyssey. Sorry to say but the Wii U is basically obsolete at this point.

How many artists does it take to make Super Mario Odyssey? Apparently, a lot who all had different ideas of what the kingdoms should look like. Collecting moons makes us nauseous because there are too many and no possible way to collect them all. If you have OCD, steer clear of them.

We like the Game Over screen but it looks like it’s game over for this classic in-game feature. Nintendo has decided to take it easy on us. Do you like Amiibos? So do we! We just don’t like the fact that we’ll need to spend almost 40 dollars for some temporary benefits for Super Mario Odyssey. Cappy may look sweet and innocent but it seems like he may have a darker side.

Where in the world is Luigi? We adore him, but he always seems to get the short end of the Nintendo joystick. If you defeated Bowser and you quit after, we don’t really blame you, but if you want a real challenge, keep going. Two words: motion controls. If you don’t know how to use them by now you should probably learn because they’ll come in handy while playing Super Mario Odyssey. Join us as we tear apart everything wrong with this Nintendo masterpiece!

The Nintendo Switch is one of the hottest consoles of 2017. After all, it’s a Nintendo release so could anyone expect anything less? Nintendo has been a staple of gaming consoles since the first system came out and the company has been breaking records for as long as anyone can remember. Not only are the consoles relatively cheap compared to other consoles on the market, but they also manage to be family friendly while still providing entertaining games for all ages. In fact, their title character Mario is popular amongst all gamers from casual to hardcore.

While the Nintendo Switch is one of the more inexpensive consoles on the market, a $300 price tag is nothing to dismiss. For most people, this is still a hefty purchase. Purchasing games is another issue entirely and when all the money is gone, it’s difficult to find cheap accessories that are still functional and useful.

Luckily, there are some inexpensive accessories out there for the Nintendo Switch. From upgrading controllers to protecting the screen, there are several items that are must haves for every Nintendo Switch user. Not only do these accessories add to the gameplay experience, but a few of them will add longevity to the already hefty investment of a Nintendo Switch. No one wants to drop $300 on a console only to have it break a few months later. On top of that, some of these items are downright awesome and will not only improve gameplay, but it might convert a few gamers to Nintendo life.
