It seems the line between acceptable content for kids is becoming less clear as the years go on. It seems commonplace now for kids media, or media aimed at kids, to go too far every now and again. This is not a new thing, we can trace this all the way back to the 60s when parental restrictions were very lax. However, it seems that even with today’s hyper vigilant parents, naughty stuff can sometimes fall under the radar. Whether it’s a cultural divide on what is acceptable for kids, tone deaf marketing, or multiple of generations of fans mingling together, it all comes down to one fact; kids don’t make media, adults do, and it’s just as simple as that.

We have all seen the lists of adult jokes that slipped into kid’s cartoons and movies. We all know about the scene in Dexters lab where there is a woman wearing tight yoga pants with the phrase “Dad’s Trophy” written on the butt. The kids back then didn’t get it, but we do now. Well the same is true for video games. It doesn’t matter if they’re old favorites or newer games, game developers and writers have been putting in naughty bits for kids to enjoy for decades. Surprisingly, some of the worst content doesn’t even come from the devs, but from the fans. So turn off the safesearch as we look at 10 Inappropriate Moments in Kid’s Games.
