Emmys Results, Ridley Scott, Sequels and Reboots Galore! – CineFix Now Roundtable

The CineFix team comes together to discuss both the biggest, and the smallest, stories of the week. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9AGRm

Big thing that happened this week was the Emmys. We share our thoughts on what we liked, what surprised us, and what didn’t in the results: http://goo.gl/N1MVG0

Ridley Scott’s got a lot of sequels (or sequels to prequels!) in the works in the next few years. Do you want to see BLader Runner II or Prometheus 2? http://goo.gl/wxTWrE

Apparently, Warner Bros. is thinking about “re-booting” classic family sitcom Full House. What constitutes a “reboot” of a show about an unconventional family, we’re not sure: http://goo.gl/vDQrp8

Do you think anyone got snubbed at the Emmys? Do you think we’ll be watching the show next year on Tuesday at 11am? What do you think of Ridley Scott’s returning to his origins, such as it is? What about TV returning to the 80s, apparently?

Ridley Scott Directed What Now? – What To Watch Before You Die

Bad ass chicks and Road Trips! This week on What to Watch before you Die, a waitress and a housewife embark on a road trip turned crime spree in a Girl Power movie that introduced a movie star, and had one of the most iconic endings ever… Thelma & Louse! Subscribe – http://goo.gl/9AGRm

Directed by Ridley Scott, who was (and is) better known for epic sci-fi films like Blade Runner and Alien (and later Gladiator) and police or military dramas, this quintessentially indie script by Callie Khouri is really one-of-a-kind in among movies with female leads. Romance is secondary, and themes of morality and freedom take center stage… though Geena Davis, Susan Serandon, and Brad Pitt certainly make for very pretty packaging for all of it.

Have you seen Thelma & Louise recently? Have we convinced you to give it a watch (or a re-watch) before you die? What do you think of it as an entry into Ridley Scott’s directorial filmography? What other movies would you like to see us talk about on the show?

We want to hear from you – Let us know in the comments below!
