Trailers Bonanza! – CineFix Now Roundtable

As the flood of end-of-year movies approaches, the biggest movies are flooding the airwaves (and the Internet) with their biggest, most ambitious trailers. The CineFix Roundtable team gathers to remark on a noteworthy few. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9AGRm

The Imitation Game: http://youtu.be/JNGBhAGD7lk
The UK trailer for the historical drama about mathematician-turned-codebreaker Alan Turing promises this will be the most exciting, and most British, movie about math EVER.

Interstellar Final Trailer: http://youtu.be/iBLPrBX-iCw
For all that this is the final trailer for Christopher Nolan’s new space travel drama, we’re still not QUITE sure what we’re going to see in the final movie.

Taken 3 Or Tak3n: http://youtu.be/E859dmekYsQ
This is clearly going to be the greatest sequel of all time.

Exodus: Gods and Kings: http://youtu.be/dEoi733n_wM
Ridley Scott’s epic, modern-effects laden take on the story of Moses and Ramses. Looks EPIC.

Inherent Vice: http://goo.gl/e5XphW
The latest form Paul Thomas Anderson. In the vein of American Hustle? Big Lebowski?

Inside Out: http://goo.gl/vwvBYv
A somewhat unconventional approach to a teaser trailer. Whatever happens, we will all probably cry at this movie.

So, what did you think of these trailers? Which movie coming out soon are you most excited for? Exodus? Interstellar? The Imitation Game? What do you think of Pixar’s approach to the Inside Out teaser trailer? Which movie do you think will be the most disappointing? Did you do like we did, and watch the Exodus and Inherent Vice trailers back-to-back? How’d that go?

News from The Marvel Cinematic Universe! – CineFix Now

We got more news out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe this week. Well, Rumors, anyway. Rumors that Avengers 3 is going the split-sequel route, and names are tossed around for Dr. Strange. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9AGRm

The Marvel Cinematic Universal Rumor Mill (TM) has been churning on the idea that Avengers 3 may get the same treatment as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Twilight: Breaking Dawn, and Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Minus the YA novel origins). It might be just a rumor, or it might be a way to unite all the characters with a little more screen time: http://goo.gl/zvlE8O

Jared Leto isn’t going to be Dr. Strange, which means there’s room in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for another player. Who’s it going to be??

Who do you think should be Dr. Strange? What do you think of the idea of Ethan Hawke as taking on the role? Or Daniel Day Lewis or Andy Serkis? What do you think of the idea of seeing Avengers 3.1 and Avengers 3.2 hitting theaters separately? What other hero do you hope gets some screen time in the MCU?

One word for you: Plastics. Six words: Watch The Graduate Before You Die. Seriously, this movie is one of the all-time greats. It’s on everyone’s must-watch list for a reason. Subscribe – http://goo.gl/9AGRm

Everything, from the spot-on performances by Anne Bancroft and a very young Dustin Hoffman, the soundtrack by Simon & Garfunkel, and the artful use of cinematography and montage makes this a great film. But it’s the fact that the audience can relate to main character Benjamin’s directionless angst (even if they can’t relate to his specific situation) that makes this a great watch.

Find out more about the Graduate here, including where to watch it now: http://goo.gl/TJDV9c
