Top 10 Chase Scenes of All Time

A good chase scene gets the heart pumping and the adrenaline flowing. There’s no shortage of great chase scenes in movie history, and no shortage of variety either. Here are our Top 10 across the board. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9AGRm

What did you think of the list? Do you agree with our selections of best movie chase scenes of all time? Any chases you think we left off the list (we’re sure there are dozens)? What’s your all-time favorite pick for best chase in cinematic history? Do you think we overlooked a type of chase vehicle?

Let us know in the comments!

THE LIST

The Driver (1978)
Director: Walter Hill
The chase that inspired the 2011 remake is still a classic in our book.

E.T. (1982)
Director: Steven Spielberg
We all remember the magic of the bicycle silhouetted against the sky, but it was the climax of a pretty great chase scene

The General (1926)
Directors: Clyde Bruckman, Buster Keaton
The second train chase in this 1926 silent film was featured the most expensive stunt of its time, and is well worth revisiting the genre just for the quality of the chases.

The World is Not Enough (1999)
Director: Michael Apted
The boat chase in this Brosnan-era Bond film features some absolutely insane stunts along the way, and some absolutely mind-boggling engineering behind-the-scenes.

The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Director: Irvin Kershner
The odds of successfully navigating an asteroid field are approximately 3,720 to 1. But Han Solo does it, while being chased by the Empire.

Akira (1988)
Director: Katsuhiro Otomo
It’s a little unusual to pick an animated sequence in a list dominated by impressive practical stunts, but the sheer beauty of the motorcycle chases in Akira aren’t to be missed.

Ong Bak (2003)
Director: Prachya Pinkaew
This Tony Jaa martial arts movie makes full use of its star’s physical capabilities in the chase scene through the allys of Bangkok.

The French Connection (1971)
Director: William Friedkin
Gene Hackman’s pursuit of a subway in a car is one of the most raw, and epic chases we’ve ever seen on film.

Bullitt (1968)
Director: Peter Yates
This quintessential chase from the iconic Steve McQueen stands the test of time, and is our pick for best chase scene of all time.

Evil Dead is Coming to Starz!! – CineFix Now

In breaking news this afternoon, Starz ordered a TV show based on the Evil Dead franchise. To be Executive Produced by Sam Raimi, and starring… Bruce Campbell! Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9AGRm

This is really, really exciting news for fans of the Evil Dead franchise, who have been eager to see Bruce Cambell back in the role of Ash, and Sam Rami back to dishing out his signature combination of over-the-top humor with a hefty dose of ass-kicking.

The series will air on Starz in 2015, and you can read more about it here: http://goo.gl/Re1cfe

Are you as excited about this news as Dave and Mark are? Will this get you to add Starz to your cable package, where Outlander didn’t? Are you excited to see Bruce Cambell playing Ash Williams again? Do you have any doubts about the franchise picking up again?
