We live in an era where the box office is dominated by superheroes. Although they may not be flying over our tallest skyscrapers or web-slinging around our neighborhoods, every cineplex seems to be playing at least one new installment of the MCU or the DCEU at any given time. Due to the physical demands of these superpowered roles and the risky stunts in which our favorite characters often need to participate, brave stuntmen and women need to take on at least a portion of the roles. You may be surprised to learn that these stunt performers often might share just as much screen-time as the famous actors and actresses who receive top billing. Join ScreenRant as we salute these 10 stunt doubles who often do just as good a job as the celebrities who get all the credit.

You may be surprised to learn that breakout star, Pedro Pascal, isn’t always under the Mandalorian’s mask. As Captain Marvel and Black Widow, respectively, Brie Larson and Scarlett Johansson aren’t the only ones wearing their form-fitting costumes and kicking evildoers’ butts. And while Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Chadwick Boseman and Tom Holland are famed members of the Avengers team, the demands of the MCU films are just too dangerous for them to fully partake in every fight scene. With Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot is everyone’s favorite Amazonian warrior, but she can’t always jump the highest heights that the script demands. Uma Thurman’s stunt woman on Kill Bill made such an impression that Quentin Tarantino gave her a starring role of her own. And Harrison Ford did a lot of his own stunts in Indiana Jones, but the guy can’t do everything.

Before J.J. Abrams took over the world of Star Wars with The Force Awakens and the Rise of Skywalker, he revived another classic sci-fi franchise with 2009’s Star Trek, a movie so filled with lens flares it was difficult to see. But from what people could make out, it seemed pretty good!

The creative freedom of animation allows cartoons to take their stories anywhere — and more times than we could have imagined, many of these cartoons have predicted the future. Pokemon Go! Took the world by storm back in 2016. Well, back in 1999, South Park could see the rise of Pokemon coming and decided to take it on with the episode entitled “Chinpokomon”. The parody of Pokemon included everything from the toys to the video games. Caitlyn Jenner’s transformation from Bruce took the world by surprise back in 2015. Well, not everyone was surprised, especially the writers and animators on Family Guy. YEARS before Jenner announced she was transgender, Family Guy made direct remarks about the former Olympian. Nothing like modern technology to present an easier solution — only to screw things up even worse. One example? The voting machine mishaps in the 2012 Barack Obama and Mitt Romney election. In real life, people were selecting a candidate like Obama, only to have Romney appear on the electronic voting screen. See how the Iron Man cartoon may have predicted a terrible disaster just a few years later.

This Star Wars Deleted Scene Would Have Completely Changed The Movies

Less than a month after the release of the Rise of Skywalker, the movie that promised to tie up four decades of Star Wars and give fans ending they so richly deserved, Chewbacca’s come back to stir up debate.

Joonas Suotamo, the former professional basketball player who plays Chewbacca, was interviewed by the Hollywood reporter about a controversial scene from The Force Awakens. After most of the drama of the film has already taken place, when Chewie, Rey, Finn and Poe, return, sans Han Solo, from the fight with Kylo Ren, Leia and Rey hug.

Although it seems like an innocuous moment–a touching one, even–that’s not how the fans felt. There’s nothing wrong with the hug that did happen, it’s the hug that didn’t happen that’s got everyone so riled up. When she’s walking towards Rey, Leia ignores her old friend (and Han Solo’s best friend) Chewbacca. Fans were appalled that Princess Leia would ignore the Wookie who just lost his best friend in favour of someone she’s never even met.

It’s a fair enough criticism and the filmmakers took note. At the end of the next movie, they added in a split-second hug between the Princess and the Wookie. But according to Suotamo, they filmed a “consolation scene” for The Force Awakens, but it didn’t even make it onto the DVD. Would the movie have been better with the deleted scene?

The Secret You Need To Know About Beth’s Mom In Rick And Morty

Rick and Morty is, once again, on a hiatus. That means, from now until “sometime in 2020,” we’ve got to keep ourselves occupied somehow, and what better way to do it than by dissecting what we already have and trying to figure out the ends that have been left loose.

Like Beth’s mom, for one. Her involvement has been teased since the first episode of the show, but she’s never truly appeared. She did show up once in a flashback from season 3 as a woman named Diane, but that was revealed to be a fabrication of Rick’s fancy, constructed to lead his alien captors astray. But even though it was technically not true, it does give us a lot of insight into Rick and Beth’s relationship and the 20 year abandonment that has coloured it ever since.

Their respective daddy and daughter issues have been the driving force of their TV tension and, after three seasons, it’s going to get stale pretty soon, which is why Rick’s ex could make a very opportune entry in season 4. She’s been mentioned in season one’s “Rick Potion #9,” season two’s “Auto-Erotic Assimilation” and “The ABCs of Beth.” A fourth time and it will have to be the real thing.

Fans have speculated that she could be cloned into another dimension, where Rick spent time with her alone, away from the pressures of Earth and now her clone could make an appearance, unaware of her original self’s anger at Rick. We’ll just have to wait and see.
