The Fast and the Furious franchise has changed a lot since it was first introduced. What started as a series about racing for pink slips, has since become a car-based heist franchise with super-spy elements.

Basically, Vin Diesel just had the Fast and the Furious films swallow up the xXx films that he was also a part of. They are tonally one and the same now. Only the word family gets thrown around a lot.

And just a little bit ago we got the first official trailer for the ninth film in the series, or tenth I suppose, if you count the spin-off film Hobbes & Show, which is apparently going to become its own separate yet still connected series.

Probably has something to do with Vin Diesel and the Rock not getting along all too well.

Anyways, you know that we here at Screen Rant have just got to break this trailer down, and see what kind of awesome, car-based action and big reveals the next film has in store for us.

Welcome back, ScreenRanters! We’re happy to see you again! The MCU is a pretty big deal. Avengers: Endgame ended an era. Both Iron Man and Black Widow perished. But Endgame also set events up for the new era. Disney+ are going to release new Marvel shows. One of which is The Falcon And The Winter Soldier series. A leaked photo from the set revealed to the world Wyatt Russell’s role as John Walker. He’s known from the comics for being US Agent. However, he was dressed in a similar fashion to Captain America in the images. This got our brains racing. We think that Walker might now be the biggest threat the MCU has ever faced. More so than Thanos.

While it’s a big claim to make, we’re going to structure our reasoning for why this is the case. Firstly, we’re going to chat a bit about Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan’s new show. After all, Steve Rogers left Falcon with the mantle while Bucky Barnes looked on in Endgame. Rogers deserved a life with Peggy Carter. Chris Evans has gone as far as he can with the role. But by the looks of it, not everyone in the MCU agreed that Falcon is the right choice. We’re also going to chat about the MCU’s current climate. At the moment, especially after Spider-Man: Far From Home, public trust in heroes is at an all-time low. There’s still all the fallout of Civil War to deal with! We’re also going to see how Walker’s Captain America inclusion could lead to more developments. Such as the Hydra ruled world in Secret Empire. As well as the creation of the Dark Avengers. Fun!

“The Fast and Furious” franchise has been around for almost 20 years. The first film premiered in 2001 and features 9 movies so far (one of them being the spin off “Hobbs and Shaw”) with a 10th movie being released in April 2020. But with fast cars and action galore, it can be hard to spot all of the references and eastereggs the Fast creators and actors have slipped into the movies over the years. The films have referenced other huge franchises like “Avengers” and “Star Wars”, paid tribute to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s many jobs, resurrected characters’ favorite cars, featured celeb cameos, and of course, they’ve paid homage to the late-actor Paul Walker, who helped make the Fast films so incredibly popular. From stars like Vin Diesel to Ludacris, the Fast films have even given actors a chance to promote their own businesses or insert aspects of their own personality into their on-screen characters. But don’t worry if a rewatch is too much of a time commitment, because in this video we’re going to break down some of the coolest things you might have missed in “The Fast and the Furious” films.
