Audi R8 V10 Plus vs Ducati Diavel: 0-150-0mph – autocar.co.uk

It’s time for a drag race. So, which is faster, the Audi R8 V10 Plus or Ducati Diavel superbike?

SUBSCRIBE to Autocar: http://youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=autocar

This is a drag race, but with a few twists. Firstly, the contenders raise the age-old question of, which is faster, car or motorbike? Secondly, not only do they have to accelerate from zero to 150mph, they also have to come back to a full stop. With a power-to-weight ratio twice that of the Audi R8 V10 Plus, we’re expecting the Ducati Diavel to rocket off the line. But, how quick is it over 100mph, and can it outbrake the R8?

Can a supercar beat a superbike? Can a Audi A1 outrun a Nissan GT-R on a wet circuit? Can a Porsche 911 slay a Corvette on the drag strip? Autocar pitches the giants of the performance car world against each other to deliver the all-important verdict.

Aston Martin Vanquish: meet the ancestors – autocar.co.uk

We reunite the stunning Aston Martin Vanquish coupe with the original V12 GT car from 2003 to study its evolution.

SUBSCRIBE to Autocar: http://youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=autocar

When the original Aston Martin Vanquish was launched, its £150,000 price tag, 460bhp 6.0-litre V12 and near-two-tonne weight made it a luxury GT car which left a vivid impression on Steve Sutcliffe. Its stonking mid-range was in little doubt, but has time been less kind to its parts-bin interior? And, how does it compare to the all-new Vanquish? This is now a car which uses carbon fibre to keep its weight down and has 565bhp under the hood.

NEW Aston Martin Rapide S – flat-out review by autocar.co.uk

Autocar tests the new Aston Martin Rapide S, with more power from its 6.0-litre V12 and a lower centre of gravity.

SUBSCRIBE to Autocar: http://youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=autocar

The new Aston Martin Rapide S may not appear to have changed a great deal, but in keeping with Aston’s incremental approach to updating its line-up, the new grille is the most obvious change outside. Under the bonnet, its 6.0-litre V12 now gets 80bhp more power and it’s mounted 19mm lower for improved handling and better pedestrian impact protection. Is it enough to compete with the Porsche Panamera, Mercedes S-Class and BMW Gran Coupe?

Renault Clio RS 200 Turbo vs Toyota GT86 – autocar.co.uk

The Renault Clio RS 200 is one of the most eagerly-awaited hot hatches, but how does it compare to the Toyota GT86?

SUBSCRIBE to Autocar: http://youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=autocar

The all-new Renaultsport Clio RS 200 is a radical departure. Gone is the free-breathing 2.0-litre and manual ‘box, replaced by a 1.6-litre turbo with a six-speed paddle-shift and an all-new chassis. It’s something of a techno-fest to the point you can even choose how the engine sounds. So, how would it fare against the very honest and rear-wheel drive Toyota GT86? Steve Sutcliffe drove them back-to-back at the Clio’s launch.

Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6 – 536bhp, 6WD and $500,000 – autocar.co.uk

Meet the Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6, the £350,000 six-wheel drive SUV with a 536bhp twin-turbocharged V8. A Hummer H1 ain’t got nothing on this…

When four-wheel drive just won’t cut it, you might need the Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6. That’s if you can afford its equally astonishing £350,000 price tag. This bespoke brute is fitted with a twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8 producing 536bhp and 560lb ft of torque. Despite weighing 3,775kg it can still hit 62mph in less than six seconds. Its top speed is limited to 100mph to protect the huge 37-inch off-road tyres. It’s derived from an Australian military vehicle, no less.

Range Rover v Porsche Cayenne drag racing off road – autocar.co.uk

Which is faster off-road, the Range Rover V8 Supercharged or the Porsche Cayenne Turbo? We pitch them together in an off-road drag race to settle the score

SUBSCRIBE to Autocar: http://youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=autocar

After Autocar’s head-to-head video we’ve decided the Range Rover is more comfortable and refined, but not as quick on the road as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. But how quick are these uber-4x4s when faced with a very wet and slippery grass bank. Can the Range Rover’s off-road technology defeat the power of the Porsche? Steve Sutcliffe sees which 4×4 can slither its way to victory.

Porsche 911 at 50: Seven generations of 911 – autocar.co.uk

Over seven generations and 50 years, the Porsche 911 has changed with the times and technology without diluting its DNA. Steve Sutcliffe drives the 911 classic, 933 and 911 back on a snowy and slippery handling circuit at Silverstone.

SUBSCRIBE to Autocar: http://youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=autocar

The Porsche 911 is 50 years and seven-generations old, having evolved from the 911 classic, to the G-Series, 964, 993, 996, 997 and current 991. Along the way there have been some major changes, perhaps none more so than the switch from air-cooled to water-cooled motors in the 996. Steve Sutcliffe takes the original 911 tested by Motor magazine in 1966, a 993 and 991 for a spin at a very snowy Silverstone.
