Sony MDR-1000X Review: Your Personal Sound Booth

The Sony MDR-1000X won’t win any fashion awards; it’s a bulky and very plain-looking headset, its cans studded with buttons. But what it lacks in style it makes up for in performance: I’ve used the Bose QC35, Sennheiser PXC-550 and countless other noise canceling headsets, and I can say with very little hesitation that the MDR-1000X has them both beat. Nintendo Switch Review: Game Boy Grows Up

The Game Boy for a new generation. The home console you take with you. The new Nintendo for your pocket. Whatever droll headline you can dream up for the Nintendo Switch, it’s guaranteed to fall short – because this truly is a gadget like no other. I bought the Nintendo Switch thinking it would be a fun excuse to review something other than a smartphone or laptop … but half a week in, Zelda has completely taken over my nights, and my days are spent bleary-eyed, pining for the feel of Joycons under my thumbs. This honeymoon phase can’t completely compensate for the Switch’s missteps, and I’m worried about what happens when I finally finish Breath Of The Wild … but I’m hopeful that this new category of device inspires enough developers to write enough games to keep the Switch afloat.
