أثار الناشط السياسي وائل غنيم الجدل بإعلانه أن النائب السابق في مجلس الشعب، والناشط مصطفى النجار مات أثناء هروبه إلى السودان، مشددا على أنه لا علاقة للدولة باختفائه.
وقال: “أي حد بيتهم الدولة بإخفاء مصطفى قسريا، يبقى مش فاهم حاجة، هناك محاولة لاستغلال القضية دوليا، صحيح الدولة عليها عليه مسؤولية إنها سابت الموضوع يوصل للدرجة دي، لكن الدولة هتخفيه قسريا ليه؟، مصطفى كان أطيب خلق الله، النشطاء عايزين يتهموا الدولة بأي حاجة وخلاص”.
واختفى النجار في سبتمبر 2018، في أعقاب حكم صدر بحبسه ثلاث سنوات في قضية عرفت إعلاميا باسم “إهانة القضاء”.
وجاء إعلان غنيم هذه المعلومة التي لم يقدم دليلا بشأنها، في رده على السيناتور الأميركي ماركو روبيو الذي طالب بالكشف عن مصير النائب السابق بمجلس الشعب مصطفى النجار.
