Watching a movie with a romantic partner often adds a new layer to the viewing. When dramas focus on divorce, break-ups, and other topics, things can get a little dicey at home. The movie Blue Valentine follows the ups and downs of the relationship between Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. The result is a sad story with a sad ending and lots of awkward moments. This is Where I Leave You follows a family who mourn the loss of their father and hook up with a ton of people we are not their own spouse. 500 Days of Summer feels like a great romantic comedy until it takes a sudden turn and will make you question your own relationship. The Gift showcases how demons from the past can show up and create all types of havoc for you and your partner. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind follows a story of love, loss, and the memories associated with the time we spend together. The film Closer features an all-star cast in a story about cheating and keeping secrets covered up. Revolutionary Road was supposed to be a Titanic reunion, but there’s a lot of lost love between the on-screen married couple in the film. Gone Girl is an intense thriller that will make you paranoid about your partner. Watch to see all the movies you should avoid for your relationship!
