Mario Kart has been arguably the most successful spinoff series in video game history. Who knew something as simple as go karting with Mario characters would have turned into such a success? There have been 9 Mario Kart console games released since Super Mario Kart in 1992 and not one of the installments have been anything close to bad instalment. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the latest installment for the Nintendo Switch and is the most polished Mario Kart game to date. It is pretty much a souped up Mario Kart 8 for Wii U, but it adds a battle mode reminiscent of the one from Mario Kart 64. If you don’t have Mario Kart 8 for Wii U, it’s worth buying a Nintendo Switch just to play the game.
Everyone at one point or another has played Mario Kart. It is a game that could bring together a group like no other and still find a way to ruin friendships. You may make a truce with your best friend only to be hit by his red shell right before the finish line as he passes you for the win. No cool bro, not cool.
