العالم الأن أصبح في صراع مع السمنة المفرطة , فمعدلات البدانة وكثرة الدهون أصبحت مشكلة تؤرق سكان العالم الرجال والنساء ولكن بنسب متفاوته
فمع تزايد مطاعم الوجبات السريعة حول العالم , وعمل الألة الإعلامية الدائم على تجميل المنتجات الإستهلاكية لحث الشعوب على الإستزادة منها وفى مقدمة هذه المنتجات الأطعمة بأنواعها المختلفة
كانت النتيجة الحتمية لكل ذلك هى زيادة الشراهة للطعام لدى البشر وبالتالى زيادة السمنة وتراكم الدهون فى أجسادهم , وأنتشار الأمراض المتعلقة بالسمنة كالسكرى وضغط الدم
