This is the four-door Mercedes CLA-Class, based on the Mercedes Concept Style Coupe shown at the 2012 Beijing motor show. Most of the design elements from the concept have been carried over to production and it is set to rival the upcoming Audi A1 saloon. Power will come from turbocharged petrol and diesel engines found in the A-Class, as well as a 355bhp range-topping CLA 45 AMG with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and four-wheel drive.

On this episode of HOT ROD Unlimited, the team heads to Vegas to see what’s faster: a Factory Five kit car or a 542hp rear-wheel drive Lamborghini Gallardo. Associate Editor Jesse Kiser, Staff Editor Brandan Gillogly and professional driver Mike Essa pilot four of Factory Five’s kit cars to see which one’s the best on the 1/4-mile, road course, and street. The Mark IV Roadsters feature a 5.0L Coyote V8 and a 427ci from Summit Racing’s new line of Factory Five drivetrain packages.

A question I get asked all the time is AMD vs Intel? Which is best? If you’re on a budget the usual recommendation is the Intel Core i3-3220 however in the AMD camp you have the FX-4300 which is quad core and supports overclocking as well as the A10-5800K APU which has the same benefits but also has impressive graphics built-in.
I tested using the Core i3-3220 with a Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H motherboard, the FX-4300 with a Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 and the A10-5800K with a MSI FM2-A75MA-E35. Each system was tested with Windows 8 Pro on a 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue hard drive, 8GB Samsung 1600MHz RAM, Corsair CX600 PSU in a NZXT Source 210 case along with an Asus Radeon 6850 and MSI Radeon 7950.
The tests used were the Fire Strike benchmark in 3DMark (default settings), Battlefield 3 (High settings at 1080p), Far Cry 3 (High settings at 1080p), Skyrim (High Resolution Texture Pack, Ultra settings at 1080p) and each run was done multiple times while using the Fraps benchmark tool to record average framerates.
