Today’s smartwatches are mostly lightweight plastic or glass lumps, usually strapped to the wrist with rubber or textile. They’re incredibly useful for on-the-go email slingers; they’re great fitness tools for people who prioritize their health … but a decade or so after they hit the mainstream, most smartwatches are (I think) fairly forgettable.
Well, Garmin just loaned me a sample of the least-forgettable smartwatch I’ve ever worn. To test it, I flew it five time zones away to trial its Jet Lag Advisor; hiked at the highest elevation I’ve ever been to test its altimeter; and, well, just hung out by the water to see how well its nautical design blended with the maritime setting that inspired it.
