Seeing as it’s a show about martial arts and karate, there are unsurprisingly a great deal of action sequences in Cobra Kai, all of which are done for real. Now while like all shows, stunt performers are used for the trickier and more dangerous scenes, the actors did do a bunch of their stunts themselves, becoming adept in martial arts and being able to pull off the moves without any help. In fact, the cast estimated that they performed 90% of the stunts themselves, with only one or two of them being handed off to a stunt performer. But of course, stunt performers and the coordinators who come up with the choreography and what the fights will look like are as important as the actors themselves, and without their amazing work the show wouldn’t be as good as it is.
In this video we will take a look behind the scenes of Cobra Kai and how they managed to pull off some daring stunts and massive action sequences. We will take a look at all of the work and training that went into performing one of the most famous sequences from the show (the hallway fight scene and of course the moment Miguel plummets to the ground), the massive finale fight that takes place at the end of Season 3 in the LaRusso household, the jump between buildings in season 4 and a general overview at the training and work that goes into making Cobra Kai. This is behind the scenes of Cobra Kai stunts!

The Karate Kid has become a bit of a cultural touchstone, making it almost impossible for people trying to wax a car to get through the task without someone relating it to Mr. Miyagi’s classic chore based karate training technique. The classic underdog versus the bully story has become part of the landscape of American culture with lines like “Wax on, wax off” and “sweep the leg” being part of the lexicon. The series that revists Daniel-san and Johnny Lawrence that started on YouTube Red before making its way to Netflix has taken that story and built a series that explores the difficulties of the mentor and student relationship not just for the student but also for the mentors involved. Being less about ‘authentic’ karate and more of a fairy tale built around America’s retail karate world that has studios in strip malls and converted retail spaces across the country, the series has continuity outdone itself bothe exploring the outsized reality suggested by the film series but also by the crazy antics that the mentors and the new batch of students have gotten up to. Naturally that means that filming the series would result in some shenanigans all its own. From backstage pranks to choreography mistakes to Disney tunes, the stories of season 4 are almost as exciting as season 4 itself. What surprises are you looking for in Season 5? The return of Karate Bad Boy Barnes? A visit from someone in the Next Karate Kid? Showtime’s newest hit show has done the impossible. The original series, starring Michael C. Hall, was a beloved series and one of the network’s biggest hits throughout its legendary seven season run. The only problem was that the series finale was regarded as one of the worst ever made. It saw the titular character ride into a hurricane instead of into the sunset. Not only that, but then it showed him inexplicably as a lumberjack in Oregon mere moments later. So for the new series to return us to the character AND actually make the show as lovable as its best days again is no small feat. This has got a lot to do with some of the behind the scenes secrets you may have missed.
For starters, many of the original cast members were joined by many of the original directors, writers and producers. They all worked primarily on the first four seasons of the series. So they brought it back to the vibe it had when our favorite character was just trying to live a normal life alongside his dark passenger. Well, they certainly brought it back to this with plenty of new romances, villains and friends to populate Jim Lindsay’s new life. Of course, this all comes crashing down with the return of Harrison and Clancy Brown’s Kurt Caldwell. This combines with the returns of Debra Morgan and the Trinity Killer to haunt him from the grave. Will the show end better this time or will it be another failure? I may have some clues to that before the new finale airs.
So which of these easter eggs and secrets was the best? Let’s find out together! Don’t forget to like, subscribe and share for more from ScreenRant!
