On this Quarantine Cooking episode, Emily Fedner of @foodloversdiary and author of Dumpling Lover’s Diary, makes her babushka’s vareniki. Vareniki are Ukrainian dumplings stuffed with mashed potatoes and caramelized onions. Emily starts by making the vareniki dough by hand, before moving on to the filling. As the dough rests, she slowly cooks onions in butter until they are caramelized. She then assembles her vareniki, boils them, and serves them with sour cream, dill, and paprika smoked onions.
