The Boys Diabolical: 10 Things You Missed

It’s hard to stand out in the crowded world of superhero super adaptations if your not a DC or Marvel character but there’s one adaptation that’s going strong over on Amazon by parodying those very superheroes. Whenever a new superhero movie comes out there’s some noise or nod given to ‘believability’ or that the adaptation is somehow grounded in reality. The problem is that the more ‘realistic Batman’ just starts to be a really rich guy who beats up mental health patients while dressed like a bat, which is crazy itself. The adaptation up to this point has focused on The 7 but a new animated anthology has given a small group of creators a swing at the Voight Shared Universe with laser babies, useless powers, and a surprisingly touching and complex allegory for cancer and loss from the guy who brought us songs about putting one’s junk in a box or being on a boat. As one would expect the anthology series is full of hidden gems all the way throughout. What did you see when you watched the series?
