We live in an era where the box office is dominated by superheroes. Although they may not be flying over our tallest skyscrapers or web-slinging around our neighborhoods, every cineplex seems to be playing at least one new installment of the MCU or the DCEU at any given time. Due to the physical demands of these superpowered roles and the risky stunts in which our favorite characters often need to participate, brave stuntmen and women need to take on at least a portion of the roles. You may be surprised to learn that these stunt performers often might share just as much screen-time as the famous actors and actresses who receive top billing. Join ScreenRant as we salute these 10 stunt doubles who often do just as good a job as the celebrities who get all the credit.
You may be surprised to learn that breakout star, Pedro Pascal, isn’t always under the Mandalorian’s mask. As Captain Marvel and Black Widow, respectively, Brie Larson and Scarlett Johansson aren’t the only ones wearing their form-fitting costumes and kicking evildoers’ butts. And while Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Chadwick Boseman and Tom Holland are famed members of the Avengers team, the demands of the MCU films are just too dangerous for them to fully partake in every fight scene. With Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot is everyone’s favorite Amazonian warrior, but she can’t always jump the highest heights that the script demands. Uma Thurman’s stunt woman on Kill Bill made such an impression that Quentin Tarantino gave her a starring role of her own. And Harrison Ford did a lot of his own stunts in Indiana Jones, but the guy can’t do everything.
