While everyone loves talking about the MCU or DCEU, there is a whole other successful movie universe out there known as the Conjuring Universe. Starting the Conjuring, the films have expand and grown with prequels, sequels, and all kinds of other scares mixed in. From Annabelle to the Nun, we have seen a crazy collection of ghost stories and plenty of great scares over the years.
Now that The Nun has hit theaters, we can look back on he great franchise and see how everything connects together. What characters were from the original Conjuring all along and how does Valak tie into everything we’ve seen? Also, we will take a look at what the future has to hold for the Conjuring franchise as the characters grow and we see more hauntings from creatures like Annabelle or the possibly reemergence of Valak. It seems like there will be a single movie released each year and you have of continued story elements to look forward to. Valak’s origin story is told through the Nun and while the film is packed with great scares, it also finds some very clever ways to tie into the whole Conjuring franchise. While the first Conjuring film felt like it had no connections to the other movies, the epilogue in the Nun ties everything together nicely and sets up a great future for the franchise. Watch to see Valak’s journey through time, the crazy exorcism that got rid of the demon, and which character Valak took control of for so many years.
